From Dothan to Italy to India

Our arrival in India after a week of vacation in Italy has been hectic.  Arrived in Delhi, India late at night Monday, flew to Dehra Dun on Tuesday and had our first service Tuesday night with a large group of students . . . from college/career age to Jr and Sr High School.  It was a great night as Beverly and I tag teamed during the ministry time sharing the Word on Jesus being the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE . . .  Jn 14:6

Sharing this truly opened up a lot of the student's lives as many of them are seeking the "Way" for their future, a time of decisions, a time of important choices for all of them.  Beverly and I began a ministry time that lasted quite a while, giving prophetic words and extended times of prayer for many.

Today, Wednesday, we started out the day again running . . . as I shared in the Vineyard School of Ministry . . . a group of interns at the Vineyard, some of whom are being groomed to plant churches, others desiring to be better local church servants in their area of gifting.

I shared on The Kingdom of God, its elements, its power and its mission along with a session on moving in the Gifts of the Spirit, especially the prophetic.  After the teaching time Beverly and I ministered prophetically to all of the students . . . it was a powerful, encouraging time.

Wednesday evening, tonight, we went to a large small group in a house that is part of the Dehra Dun Vineyard Church.  Beverly first shared a word, then I shared a word and then Body ministry happened in the most beautiful way.  We ended the evening with a wonderful Indian pot luck . . . Indian Currys, breads, curried vegetables, and some Tibetan food. Delicious to say the least.  Since most of the Dehra Dun church speaks English it is a lot easier to connect to members of the church which we really enjoy.

One highlight is a couple from Calcutta who came just for the time we are here . . . Pastor Sunny is taking them under his wings and grooming them to plant a Vineyard church in Calcutta in about a year or so.  He brings them up for a week of ministry from time to time so it is a delight to have them with us this week.  Can you believe it is a 2 1/2 day journey by train from Calcutta to Dehra Dun!

We are staying in Sunny and Vika's Gilbert's home . . . they are so gracious and hospitable . . . and like all Indian homes many people come and go all day long.  It's a bright and hospitable atmosphere. We are enjoying close fellowship.

The weather is hot . . . over 100 degrees daily . . . but we really don't mind it . . . we prefer hot over cold any day.

This weekend is a big event for Beverly and I and we ask for your prayer support. Friday morning until 5pm and  again Saturday morning until noon we will be doing a Marriage Enrichment Seminar with a dozen or so young couples.  This is a great challenge and privilege for Beverly and I and we take it seriously – that is why we ask you're your heartfelt, fervent prayer support for this big weekend event.  Then Sunday we minister in the Dehra Dun Church service.

We miss our church family back at Dothan Vineyard but we feel connected to you through Facebook and emails.  The fact that we know there is a daily prayer meeting for us gives us great confidence in God's protection as we travel, eat and minister.  We need his grace, protection and empowerment.

Its late at night here in India, but I wanted to put on the blog a report and the prayer request for the upcoming weekend. We are also praying for Vineyard's services and ministries while we are away  . . . . we are confident all of our faithful servers are on duty and growing the church while we are away.

Until Later, Love from Dehra Dun India and the Vineyard Church Here . . . Lyle and Beverly
